Stamford Apartments Join Together for Food Drive

Several Stamford Apartment communities are joining forces to fight hunger this holiday season. Hoyt Bedford Apartments, The Townhouse, and Morgan Manor have setup a canned food/ dry food drop box at the Hoyt Bedford leasing center located at 112 Hoyt Street, Stamford, CT 06905.

Food donations will be given to The Foodbank of Lower Fairfield County to help feed those less fortunate. The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc. (more…)

5K Liver Life Walk in Stamford

The American Liver Foundation Connecticut Division will be holding a Liver Life Walk in Stamford, Connecticut on September 26, 2010. This 5K walk will be held at Cove Island Park in Stamford and help raise awareness and funds for the 30 million Americans affected by liver disease.

Stamford residents are being encouraged by Mayor Pavia to participate. In addition to the actual walk, there will be speakers, entertainment, and free Subway and Panera sandwiches…YUM!

New Farmers Market Opens in Norwalk

The Norwalk Health Department will be holding a Farmer’s Market every Wednesday from 1-4PM beginning July 28th. The farmers market will take place in the Norwalk Health Department parking lot located at 137 East Avenue and include some of the best fresh, local produce from around the area.

Tour des Farms Bicycle Ride in Hamden

If you enjoy cycling then it’s hard to imagine a better way to spend your Sunday afternoon than the Tour des Farms bicycle ride in Hamden, CT on Sunday, August 1, 2010. The 25 mile route will take riders to local farms, greenhouses, orchards, and historic sites around the New Haven area.

Along each stop, participants will get to enjoy the sounds of local Connnecticut musicians including Kate Callahan, John Ciambriello, Frank Critelli, and Brian Dolzani. Save the Fireworks Fundraiser in New Haven on June 18th

The New Haven fireworks show was cut from the city’s budget this year but the July 4th show will still go on thanks to strong fund-raising efforts and great sponsors such as Ikea who donated $20,000. One of the big fundraisers for the July 4th fireworks show is simply called “New Haven Fireworks Fundraiser” and is being presented by Terminal 110 on June 18, 2010 from 5 to 9PM.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 and will include a live band, beer, wine, food, and a dueling piano show. The”New Haven Fireworks Fundraiser“ event will take place at 240 Sargent Drive, New Haven, CT. 06511. Please click here to purchase tickets for the event.
