Young athletes living in our Stamford rental apartments who are looking for a more active way to keep busy are in for a real treat at Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy. Located in the Springdale neighborhood of Stamford, about one and a half miles away from our Hoyt-Bedford, Morgan Manor & Townhouse apartments, it is one of the premier athletic training facilities in the Northeast.
Bobby Valentine’s is a complete training academy, providing instruction and coaching to baseball and softball enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. The programs provide players, coaches and parents with the latest athletic information available. The staff utilizes both technology and experience to develop and discover new information for players to increase their performance levels through lessons, clinics and competition. All kinds of great cinema events at the Avon!
Looking for something new and interesting to do? Well if you are a resident of one of our Stamford apartment rental communities, then you have your pick of any number of places to go and things to do this winter. For instance, one of Stamford’s true gems is the classic Avon Theatre and their schedule of upcoming events is so jam packed there’s sure to be something for everyone! The fully restored Avon Theatre features the best of independent, world and documentary films, foreign and Hollywood classics and educational programming. The film center was formed in 2003 under the name the Avon Theatre Film Center, Inc., to restore a vital downtown landmark and reopen it as a community venue for the presentation of timeless films.

Stamford apartment rentals’ residents want to get to the gym, get more organized and save more money. Admit it – these are the same resolutions we all set down for ourselves every year! Well, we’ve got ways that will help you keep them this time.
All of our downtown Stamford apartment communities have a private, on-site fitness center, with access limited to our residents only. Membership is included in your monthly rent! Now it won’t matter what the weather is. You won’t have to drive across town to that fancy franchise gym you had to join only to let the membership card sit unused most of the year. Our state-of-the-art, fully equipped fitness center is right downstairs. If you’re a shy type, you can check to see how filled it is before you even walk out the door with our closed circuit television service.

Come learn the dancing martial art of Capoeira and burn holiday fat!
When it’s cold outside of your Stamford rental apartment and the days are short, it can be easy to just give in and want to hibernate like so much of our fine Connecticut wildlife. Of course, that lifestyle with holiday feasts and other seasonal indulgences catches up quickly, and before you know it pants are too tight and New Years resolutions are being made.
We offer full fitness facilities for our residents, but for those looking for something more entertaining as well as active, there’s a great option in Stamford: Capoeira classes. On Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., you can join us at the Connecticut Ballet at 20 Acosta Street for a Capoeira class with instructor Zumbi. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared for some fun moves! It's My Park Day near Stamford Apartments
Okay here’s an event near our Stamford apartment rentals that’s been 5 years in the making. Mill River Park, just a few blocks west of our downtown Stamford apartment communities, is celebrating “It’s My Park Day” on Saturday, Oct.15 and everyone’s invited! There will be face painting and balloon artists for the kids, as well as pumpkin decorating contests and games and activities for all ages.
For the adults there will be a formal Celebration of the Mill River Cherry Trees, a tribute to the former majestic cherry trees that lined Mill River for generations. The ceremony takes place at 11 a.m., but the other events begin at 10 a.m. and run through 1 p.m.
The park itself has been around since the late 1920s when Stamford’s very first master plan depicted open space and parkland to be set aside, protected from development, similar to New York City’s Central Park. (more…)

Don't Miss Franklin Street Works Inaugural Exhibition
Just a few blocks south from our downtown Stamford apartment rentals, you can find one of the hidden gems of Stamford. Franklin Street Works is a not-for-profit contemporary art space, café, and social gathering place in Stamford. It produces original on-site and off-site exhibitions, artist projects and related programming. Located in a set of renovated row houses on Franklin Street that date back to the 1880s, the two-story space includes three galleries and a café.

Tips to Stay Safe in Stamford Apartment Rentals
With the recent hurricane / tropical storm Irene now in the rearview mirror, it’s time to get back to business at our Stamford apartment rentals. Although it seems we were spared the worst of the storm damage, the clean-up in many parts of downtown Stamford continues. Our Stamford Apartment communities of Hoyt-Bedford, Morgan Manor and The Townhouse Apartments were fortunate in that we didn’t lose electrical power or get flooded. But judging from the number of phone calls we received prior to the storm asking for preparation plans and advice, I thought it would be worthwhile to go over a basic checklist of what to have on hand in the event of an emergency. Hoyt Bedford Stamford Apartment Rentals
The residents of our Stamford apartment rentals may have noticed a lot of activity around our Leasing Center on Hoyt Street recently. We’ve been busy pruning trees, repainting the parking lot surfaces and lines and repairing sidewalks; all to help keep our properties looking fresh and well-tended. The work continues indoors where we are upgrading our reception desk with beautiful limestone countertops. The renovations will continue through the rest of the summer as we renovate our property collages where the various apartment floor plans and community details are displayed. (more…)
